Yea I totally did that when I first moved to the States from England...I also asked for a chewy one time, and everyone's lookin at me like I'm a freak...after 5 minutes they finally got it that I meant "gum"...I've been nicknamed Chewy for about 8 years now lol even some of my friends' parents call me Chewy!
LMFAO Like in Britain, fags are cigarettes
It's both now, yay for the Internet!
this totally happened to me when i first moved to canada from england. it was so awkward
since when were rubbers condoms in canada?? everyone i know calls erasers rubbers here too
Hehehe that's funny. Such awkward misundertandings. I'm so paranoid about something similar happening to me with the guy I like, who's Australian. Like, I'm writing a paper on the roots of music or something and he was all "can I read it" and I was like "NO!!!"
Wtf?
Oh slang terms, when will your duel use fail to entertain me?
AHAHAA GREAT FML!
i've done the same damn thing. also, saying "thongs" instead of "flipflops" causes mass hysteria.
ha where are you from, thats priceless :)
that also happened to my german teacher, except he was from america and moved to germany. he wanted a piece of gum and asked for a "Gummi" from a girl he really liked. Gummi means rubber/condom "Cow Gummi" means gum. she smacked him and left. they never talked again lol. ahh the confusion of language

Oh yeah, I used to confused by this from time to time back when I lived in the U.K.
yes, the Beatles are totally still relevant to teenagers! they'll be around forever i think....i'll at least introduce my kids and yeah a rubber can be considered an eraser....it erases the chances of getting pregnant...?!
