OP, you're from Canada. And Alberta at that. Legal drinking age in Alberta (and Quebec) is 18. Why is 21 such a big deal? Also, you're a whiny brat. Your friends wanted you to have a good time. Maybe they chose the wrong venue, but at least they wanted to spend time with you. Stop feeling sorry for yourself because you CHOOSE not to drink. I don't drink because I have much more fun sober. If you can't have fun sober just because other people are drunk, then you're a prissy bitch. Stop acting like everyone's an asshole if they don't share your emo misery.

Okay, I know I'm being a giant comment *****, and for that I apologize, but everyone saying, "Good for you, OP!", "Way to not drink, OP!", "You're so mature, OP!", PLEASE SHUT IT. Not drinking isn't a sign of maturity. Especially when it results in coming to FML to cry about it. Not drinking doesn't make you better than people who do drink, and acting like it does makes you an ever more obnoxious douche. Drinking doesn't make you a bad person. Not drinking doesn't make you a good person. Alcohol has been around forever. And everyone bitching about how it's so great not to drink, guess who drank alcohol? That's right; Jesus. It's in the bible, suckas. (Yes, that last bit was mostly in jest. But if you believe in him or the bible, you gotta believe he drank once in a while.)

The the people saying OP is boring/a killjoy/lame for not drinking? Are those people not obnoxious douches as well? Drinking doesn't make you a bad person, but it doesn't make you a good person either. It just makes you a person who drinks. There are people on both sides of this argument who are being douche-y.
