Today, it dawned on me that I've been married for 6 months, but because of the Army I've spent only around 12 days total with my wife. FML

Last time I checked, we were free before we were in this war. We actually invaded THEM. Not to say I don't have respect for the troops, but we are fighting in a war that isn't ours. And for my pre-determined response to the people that will ramble on about how they attacked us first: Not one Iraqi has ever killed any of our people on our soil. 9/11 was mainly Saudi Arabians. As for OP, I'm terribly sorry for you. I don't think your life is fuckable, nor do you deserve it at all. You have a wife that loves you enough to stick by you for long periods at a time without seeing you. Be happy you have her, she sounds like a great girl.

So this guy is crazy about me, but we haven't ever been on a date because he went to the marines before he contacted me again. He was supposed to come back in June but it was postponed till August. So I know how that sucks for you. Hopefully things will get better. (I support you for being in the Army, btw)

my boyfriend's also in the army reserves. he joined because that's what he wants to do for the rest of his life, the bonus was that it paid for his college. im terrified he'll be deployed. good luck with everything.

Aww did I hurt all the pro-war "terrorists are out to get us" people? I'm British and only moved here because my parents who worked for the UN had the "good sense" to drag us here. Since my brothers are in the military(and had to give up their British citizenship for it) I'm not against the military but rather the war the USA decides to get into. To the person who said something about prevention, how does being in Iraq stop North Korea from attacking your precious country? Isn't Iran practically next door to Iraq? I don't see you guys running to invade Iran and get rid of Ahmedinajad who ACTUALLY threatened your country. Fact is the only war the USA fought for good reasons in the 20th century was World War II. Ask any historian and they'd tell you the same thing. I guess like Bush who ignored the UN,you guys also refuse to accept that the war wasn't justified. Osama Bin Laden is actually Saudi;wonder why you guys are not bombing Saudi Arabia to flush him out.

I feel your pain.... my husband and I got married exactly a year ago tomorrow, and I have been with him for maybe 3 weeks of that year since we said "I do". The military bumped up his deployment date, so for all you jerks who are saying that "he should have known better" and it's "his fault because he's in the Army".... unless you've been where we are, screw you. I'm proud of you, soldier. My husband wont be home quite a few months yet- so I can sympathize with you. But I don't regret marrying an Army Soldier for a second. Best of luck to you two!

I respect the army and I'm grateful to all of those men and women who have chosen to make that their life career, but there are a lot of sacrifices that have to be made when entering the military, and frankly, you should have considered that before joining. That, and your wife is most likely just as upset as you are about your lack of time together. It takes a special woman who would marry someone in the military, and you're lucky to have found her. Nonetheless, it was your decision to join the military - no one else's, so don't complain.

broooooock. Thank you, thank your wife. for whatever reason, you chose to stand for the freedoms we mostly take for granted. again, thank you

on the bright side she is probally happy with another man

hahahaha yea i hope so, she probably deserves better and can do better than some brainless killer. i hope she's happy with some other man enjoying your paycheque

Hi, I just went through the annoying process of registering myself on FML just so I could comment here. I registered on the off chance that the OP or anyone else in the military would read this- I just wanted to thank you for your service in the military. My sincerest unflinching respect and unconditional admiration goes out to you guys regardless of what war we're in, who the commander in chief is, or whatever your personal beliefs and convictions are. Thanks again and all the best.

I bet the welcome home sex will be g reat...
