Today, my parents said that they bought me a car. I had been begging for one for a year and they always said that I would have to pay for it myself. I got really excited and went to the garage to see my new ride. It was a Hot Wheels car with a note saying, "Save your money". FML

quit expecting everything to be handed to you. A lot of people don't get cars for their 16th birthday. A lot of people don't get their first car until after college and it's a piece of shit.

Today, I wasn't given a free car. FML. I'm sixteen and I'm not even aloud to drive until I'm 18 and I didn't get anything except a baggie from the drug store with a candy bar and lotion for my birthday so don't be a bitch.

A car is a really expensive object. Consider that most cost at least a quarter of an average American's yearly salary, before taxes. It is very possible that there is no possible way she can afford to buy you one just because it is your birthday. Maybe you should offer to pay for part of it?
