Today, it's the five year anniversary of my father's death. I was cuddling with my boyfriend and crying about how much I missed him. He replied with, "Sometimes, I think you just like to hear yourself talk." FML

Today, I called my boyfriend to have a shoulder to cry on because my grandpa died. As soon as I told him, he started crying and telling me how much he missed his grandmother, who died six years ago. I spent the majority of the phone call listening to him wail. FML

when my dad died, my then boyfriend never came to the hospital to support me and also didn't come to his funeral. dump that loser. someone like that is a waste of your time, and he doesn't deserve you.

" the OP does need to learn how to deal with her father's passing in a better way" Yeah...Because there are 'better' ways to grieve. I feel bad for your wife if she has to put up with your "this is how long you should grieve and if it's longer than that you're grieving wrong" attitude. Why can't people just accept the fact that not everyone has the exact same style of grieving as you do? If you think 5 years is too long to still get upset about it sometimes, than whatever. But not everyone feels that way. I told my boyfriend about this FML and about the comments on it and he was completely taken back. He said, "I don't sit there and dwell on her [his moms] death everyday. But there are always going to be times that I think about it and I get sad. Especially on mothers day or the anniversary of her death. I still remember the good times, but sometimes you just can't help to get upset and just start crying sometimes. But I don't expect people who've never been through it to understand" And he's right. Just because something happened that you can't change, doesn't mean it isn't going to make you a little bit upset every once in while.

My MOM lost her father (my grandfather) in 2001. TWO THOUSAND FREAKING ONE. Over 8 years later she STILL remembers/misses him. Wow, your boyfriend is SUCH an ALPHA MALE, by the way.
