Today, it was boiling hot so my boyfriend and I decided to sunbathe in the garden and ended up falling asleep for a few hours. Not only is my back so burnt that I can't lie down, I also have a white hand print on my upper back where my boyfriend had left his arm while we slept. FML

Also, if it was boiling hot, why would you voluntarily go outside...where it's boiling hot?

Could have been in worse areas.

You know, there is this new thing called sunscreen. Ever heard of it?

Oh no! I am very prone to sunburns also so I know where you're coming from. Not only does aloe help, but keep a fan on your back, it will feel even colder. Send the sunshine up to New Hampshire...We've had nothing but rain for the past 3 weeks :-(

Why is everyone jumping all over the OP about skin cancer? Is it because some of you guys really care about her health, or is it just an excuse to be bitchy today? =

Let me get this straight, it was boiling hot and you should probably know that the sun makes you calm and sleepy, plus i'm sure that you can get skin damage, but you still decided to sun bathe!! IN YOUR BACKYARD!! I hope you weren't naked ahahaha, but anyways.. that's funny. When people see you, they know that you have a boyfriend because you been MARKED!!

if it's so hot OUTSIDE, you take your happy ass INSIDE where there's AC (if you have it).

Most people here don't have AC, I've never seen any available to buy it either. But it still would have been cooler inside. Keep the curtains shut and the windows open, that should keep it cool. Not as effective as AC, but it's all you can do....

Haha, I got burned today too =/

Aw, the burn sucks. :( But having a handprint on your upper back is actually kind of neat. If you wanna minimize the flaking and pain, hop over to a CVS/Walgreens/Eckerd and buy some of that really cheap aloe vera gel - usually blue or green, and with bubbles in it - and spread it all over your back (the bf would probably be useful here). If you keep that on there pretty consistently - maybe 2 or 3 applications a day - you shouldn't have much flaking and you should be able to keep your tan -- not to mention it feeling SO MUCH better when you put it on (it feels cooling, and you can even get kinds with lidocaine.) Hope it heals quick :) And guys, seriously. It's really okay for humans to be out in the sun for a little while. Most of us could probably benefit from a little less time on the computer and a little more time outdoors. Obviously she didn't mean to fall asleep out there.

YDI for letting him lay his hand there. Did you not think that would happen, even if you didn't fall asleep?

you're a moron. he could've fallen asleep after her. thus she wouldn't have known. and this really isn't an FML. "OMG I got sunburnt cuz I'm an idiot!!!!" I seriously hope this site adds a "who cares?" button.

looool. i feel your pain. literally i can feel it - i'm burnt as well. with a square shaped tan on my chest. it's lovely. just don't expose your back? not that hard ... your tan will fade.
