Today, it was hot out, so I wore shorts. My dad took one look at me and said, "Your thighs are so pale, it's like staring into the sun". FML

There's always that awkward stage when shorts weather comes around. I had that same issue! I don't like going tanning so I blind the world until the brightness lessens. Lol. You're not alone, OP!

Wait till he's old and his skin is fragile from all the sun damage. And yours is not. At least, not if you don't get too much sun. Go work in a nursing home and it will really open your eyes to how much damage sun exposure does. Old people with the nastiest, most fragile and discoloured skins on face and limbs still have skin like newborn on parts of their bodies that stayed covered up. After seeing that I'm happy to take the comments about people needing sunglasses around me

My dad's neck looks so bad at the end of summer, all red and such. He never wears sunscreen

by the time people reach the nursing home stage. . . they don't care what their skin looks like, I assure you.

Well avoid the tanning beds...but you wore shorts and that's not his choice to change

I have the same issue, lame dad remarks and all. However at least I am not orange or looking like raw hide lol. There's nothing wrong with pale skin op, rock those shorts.

Why was your dad looking at your thighs

so f*ck your life? lol go out and tan for 20mins a day. first world problems...

I know what it's like. My husband makes that sort of comment to me whenever my legs are exposed.

I can't really tan. So it's like that for me all year round. My thighs might be a shade or two darker than the parts that don't see the sun, however; I'm not much darker than a sheet of white paper..

My mom puts on that fake tanning stuff that gradually tans your skin--she can't tan either. Maybe try that if you're really self-conscious about it? I prefer to blind everyone in the vicinity, but that's just me though.
