Today, it was my mom's birthday. I decided to get her a Willow Tree statue of a woman fairy holding a heart. After dinner, I presented my gift. My mother asked me how much it was. I replied, $30. She threw me a dirty look, shoved the present in my direction, and told me to return it. FML

Today, for my mom's 50th birthday, all she wanted was a certain gold bracelet. It was too much money for me to buy, so I bought the same one in silver. Right before I gave it to her, my older sister gave her the gold bracelet, which made her cry. When I gave her my present, she just said, "Oh." FML

Today, my mom lit a candle in our living room, telling the family how much she loved it. She then went on the tell us that my dad got it for her and it must have been some cheap candle. I bought the candle as a gift for her on her birthday. FML

I'm sure that she wasn't being mean and saying you're cheap. What she probably meant was "$30 is too much for you to spend on her and she just wants to see you on her birthday" I know any time I buy my mother something she says I didn't have to and then tries to give me money later.

Wow that's dirty. I mean this in no way to offend you, but **** your mother. She's a serious bitch for pulling something like that. Unless she was ridiculously drunk or under the influence of a drug of sorts, that's bullshit, she was lucky you even bothered to get her anything to begin with. Ungrateful people like her get all the luck...sad story. =[
