You should always buy your parents something they need.
Too much or too little? I think $30 is more than enough for a statue-type thing.
I'm with #11, it can be a number of things here, and honestly I don't feel as if you specified enough.
Damn. Whatever happened to it being "the thought that counts"? Screw her, you got her a gift, FHL if she didn't like it.
Sounds like a nice thoughtful gift for a nasty bitch.
The don't ask/don't tell bit concerning the price of a gift boggles my mind. I guess it's just that my family's a minority on that one, but we usually divulge info about a gift--where we bought it, what the price was, etc.--without it being a problem; maybe the OP's family does the same. At any rate, regardless of your mum's intentions, she didn't have to be a bitch about it. There are polite ways to discuss the practicality of a gift your own child gave you. Or, better yet, she could have just shut the hell up and pretended to cherish it like any mother with half a soul would have done.
soo she wanted you to return it so you could get your 30 bucks back because she didnt want it, so if you said something like 10 dollars she would've kept it? i'm not sure I understand
your mom's a bitch

What a bitch shoulda threw it at her. You didn't HAVE to get her shit.
You should never ask how much a present costs; and if you are asked you should never say. It's just impolite. I feel sorry that your mother is so rude.
