Today, it was my next-door neighbor's birthday. Over the past year, his pitbull has attacked my stepdad several times and put some stiches on me. Lucky for us, the dog was finally put down. For his birthday my neighbor got a new, bigger, pitbull. FML

Not all pitbulls are mean, maybe you'll get lucky and this one won't be.

this is bullshit. pits are amazing dogs, maybe its the owner whos the dumbass and raising them to be aggressive. its basically like raising a kid, teach them to rape and murder and 9 times out of 10 they'll grow up with the mindset that its ok. its people who dont understand this that give pits a bad rep, and another reason that theyre nearly outlawed.

Not all pitbulls are horrible, mean dogs. I have a pitbull who is big and fat and scares the hell out of people but he is the sweetest (and laziest) dog ever. Even when my brother tried to train him to be tough and whatnot, he still would never ever hurt anyone. So you should seriously just chill because unless this new dog attacks you, you shouldn't be worrying so much.

"Over the past year, his pitbull has attacked my stepdad several times and put some stiches on me." What a ******* shame. You just had the first surgeon dog put down! YDI. Apparently, the dog stitched you up afterward. What's there to be angry about?

Please read this which is all facts and no opinions. Pit Bulls have been bred to fight for hundreds of years, the main ingredient in breeding is gameness, i.e. how tough the dog is, dogfights do not go to the death, the dogs are picked up free of holds and they take turns scratching, (going after the other dog when the other dog is in its corner) if the dog does not go to the other dog it losses and therefore is not as game as the other dog. There is no need for manbiters in the pit because there owners have to train them everyday and handle them in the pit and no matter how good a fighter a dog is if it bites its owner they will put them down. Pit Bulls generally (not always) have a well rounded disposition with people and sometimes with other dogs. Some of the greatest champion Pit Bulls would run around other dogs without attacking them because they did not present a threat to them. Dogfighters do not mistreat their dogs they do not abuse them to make them mean they do not let them kill kittens or puppies so they get a taste of blood this is all media rumors, the only dogfighters that do this are ones who learn how to train from watching the news. If you think of two Pit Bulls fighting like two grown men boxing or fighting in the ufc maybe you will begin to understand the sport. Pit Bulls love to fight, just like boxers and mma fighters. Most dogs will wag there tail while they are fighting, I've seen two puppies who were not pushed into fighting start a fight with there tails wagging and neither of them whimpering at all. Now sometimes injuries to the dogs occur just like in boxing or mma, but listen to this true story about a Pit Bull and tell me they do not possess the biggest heart and have love for the fight. A Pit Bull had both of his forearms broken by an extremely talented Pit Bull (breaking bones is a rarity) and his owner picked up his dog and surrendered the fight. But he wanted to see how game his dog was and set his dog down for a courtesy scratch and with tears coming down the owners eyes the dog pushed himself on its hindlegs half way across the pit before the owner picked him up

I hate pittbulls. They're vicious dogs. Even the nicest ones have been known to attack their own owners. The Humane Society puts all pitts down on the spot for a reason.

They don't, dumbass. Get your facts straight.

omg, Its the owners Responsibility to TRAIN a Dog so it wont tear ppl to shreds yes pit bulls have more power and force in them then other dogs but its totally not the WHOLE breed of pit bulls that will be vicious, so to all those ppl who keep commenting to shoot it JUST because its a pit bull are really sick and ignorant i think the OP is a bit also . that's really gross to comment about killing a dog. I meet pit bulls all the time in the dog park and some of them are SO nice and well behaved its not up to the dogs to be vicious its up to the owners who let that bad behavior go and not disciplining them. so just enough comments about killing the dog JUST BECAUSE ITS A PIT BULL . STOP BEING SO IGNORANT

#134, i'm pretty sure the humane society doesn't put pitbulls down right away considering that's where i adopted mine..i don't know where you live, but usually at humane societies, they give all dogs a chance unless they're not showing good tempers or they just don't have a chance at getting adopted..

I got mine from one too! Mine was a rescue though. :( poor baby has a fighting heart though nearly died several times but he kept pushing on and then I found him. He won my heart by barking at me for attention. The ladies that worked there loved him but said he never barked before. So that's when I knew I wanted him.

There's a reason animal control exists. You should've called the police the second his other dog attacked you or your step dad.

michigan humane society. they take mixed puppies but purebreds over so old are put down immediately. its their policy, and for good reason.

pitbulls have the power to tear off one of your limbs. if you fight back its only gonna make it worse for you. so that right there is a retarded idea

You are getting on my bad side. Pitbulls are only vicious when they are breed to be. Not everyone breeds their pitbulls to be vicious!
