Today, my 14-year-old daughter told me she's pregnant and plans on dropping out of school to live a life on the road with her boyfriend. FML

Time for some strict parenting! This is your chance to set her on the right path, to define the rest of her life :)

At least there's a spot for her on MTV.

I really hope she was joking please say she wasn't serious!!!

What were you doing letting your FOURTEEN-year-old have a bf in the first place? YDI

A lot of 14 year olds have "relationships". It usually isn't a big deal. Maybe OP didn't realise that it was a sexual thing. Or maybe she never told him that she had a boyfriend.

can you not be such a judgmental asshole please.

Actually, it's not uncommon for 14 year olds to have sex. As unfortunate as that is.

All the people saying OP has failed as a parent: Not necessarily true. I had sex when I was 14 (nearly 15, but still) and my mum and dad were absolutely wonderful parents. I had a lot of good sex education from both them and my school, and I still had sex at 14. It was something I wanted to do and so, being the stubborn teenager I was, I did it. I'm not saying it was a brilliant decision but it was a choice that I made and my parents were not at fault at all. You can't keep your eyes on your kids every single second of the day, especially when they get older.

Yep. If kids want to do it, they'll find a way. It has nothing to do with the parents. I can't believe all of the commenters blaming OP!

Wow. Just hope she has a change of heart. Show her support or its only going to get worse.

Sounds like some great parenting...

Better than an abortion...if she does try to "run away" she'll be back real soon...

Better than an abortion are you kidding me? No 14 year old should have a kid EVER

125- In some situations, abortion is the best route.

wasn't there a story circulating the internet about a kid leaving a note for his dad about something along these lines, then saying he was kidding and that there are worse things than the report card sitting on the table?
