Today, my 15-year-old daughter's pregnancy test came back positive. I wanted to know who the father is, so I could sit the two of them down to talk the situation through with them. She isn't sure if it's her best friend, or our neighbor's son. FML

15 is just way too young. She's going to have a VERY difficult life if she chooses to keep this baby. I'm not for abortion or adoption, but I hope you can have your daughter and the father of her child understand how important it is to be parents now (if they keep the child). Send them to parenting classes. I also hope you're not stuck raising the child.

so 15 is way too young but 16, merely 12 months later is fine? as far as im concerned 15 years of age is a grey area because some people are physically and emotionally mature enough.

64- kids at these age, even when taught right from wrong, do stupid shit like this. The daughter made the decision to have sex and get pregnant. It's not necessarily because of bad parenting as much as it's because of stupidity.

#64 - I would say, "Parenting...win!" You would sooner stop a freight train than you would stop teenagers from having sex. Sure you can make it monumentally more difficult for them, but if they are both willing and wanting, they are crafty enough to find a way. What OP did here is far ahead of what we often hear about. OP didn't disown or kick the daughter out, he/she didn't seek to beat some sense into the partners, instead OP's intention is to sit down with them and walk them through the situation in a rational manner, now that they are in it.

I'm pretty sure that's only for when after the baby is born though. So they will have to wait at least a few more months.
