Just tell him you sat on a public toilet seat and forgot to jump up and down afterwards. ;) I love that it seems to be that age that kids go into denial about parents having a sex life.

Perhaps he suspects that his OP is not his real father for some reason? Although it would still be a rather inconclusive answer if OP answered "no". Another scenario I can imagine is OP going like "but sex is a magical, wonderful thing based on mutual respect and love" and the son going "pfff, what are you, a virgin?" (i don't mean to use any stereotype for 16 year olds, just thinking of possible scenarios)
