take her ass back, I wad adopted and never got any toys! WTF
give her chores to do to earn a dollar or two at a time. she can earn money to buy her own toys if she feels she needs more. plus, she just might take care of them better if they were bought with "hard earned" money from loading/unloading the dishwasher, folding towels, drying dishes, sweeping the floor and such.
I'd take away all the toys and privileges that kid has and make her earn them back with extra chores before getting new toys.
if I were u, I'd probably smack her across her head and say "NO CHANCE. Take it or leave it." And smirk. >:]
well give her more toys!!!
that's how bridezillas are created.... :D
Take her to a friend's house and say they're her new parents. Make sure they're very strict with her (not outright mean, but very few toys, no sweets, etc.) and once she's miserable, bring her home. She'll appreciate it a lot more.
That's quite a cunning plan. Quite admirable. My dad just hit me until I was grateful, but that isn't allowed anymore nor as cunning.
You are brilliant. May I use this idea when/if the time comes?
When I first read your idea I thought you were a genius! Then after some thought I realized it probably wouldn't be such a great idea, adopted children already have abandonment issues and even though it's a friend she will always worry if you really will take her back. Even though she is being bratty right now just reassure her that you love her and would never give her back. She is just testing her limits, it all boils down to abandonment issues.
Adopted children only have abandonment issues if the parents don't deal with the adoption and make it seem normal. I have an adopted son after having a non-adopted daughter. We discussed the issue as soon as he was old enough to understand the word. We bought story books about it and read them together and answered any questions he had. Like any normal kid, there are issues, but abandonment is not one of them.
