I'm sorry, but I don't care how much I'm into someone; if they ask me to drop any of my friends, they can get ******. My friends mean the world to me and I wouldn't replace them with anyone.

I don't know of any/many adults who have a 'best friend' who isn't their partner or spouse. It's quite a teenage concept. I'm married and we have a child. The person I pour my heart and soul out to is my husband and vice versa. We still have friends but you'll find once you get older and start progressing along in your own lives... your family is who you turn to, rather than a friend. There will be exceptions but a large proportion of the adult world thinks like me. I don't know anyone at all who has a best friend who isn't their partner. They still have friends... they're just friends.

Actually it's not good being close friends with the opposite gender when you are dating someone else. That causes a lot of problems. I'm saying this from experience.

When my best friend of 10 years got married, I wasn't even invited to his wedding, and she forbids him to talk to me. I miss talking to him all the time. All because I'm a girl and he's a guy, there must have been something between us... sigh...
