1: Please tell me you went straight to HR and complained. 2: Might want to be aware of your attitude around the office. If your boss, as uneducated and crass as he appears to be, sees you act horrible out of nowhere, while he may be wrong in assuming it's hormones, it still doesn't excuse any behavior YOU exhibited.

My other thought on this is my own Boss does a similar thing. My boss is female, and so are most of the employees in my department. Ms.Boss likes to claim that bad attitudes are due to "Shark Week" aka: hormone week. I roll my eyes every time she does it, b/c not only is that falsely assuming all the ladies are synched, it's excusing shitty behavior that she needs to be making people be accountable for (including herself) instead of excusing it.

Going to the other end of the spectrum, did you ever consider that he was trying to be considerate and tried to give you space on those times but just phrased it wrong? That'd be the type of thing I would say joking about an awkward thing to lighten the mood a bit.
