When I applied at my now job they called my last job to make sure I worked there and that's how my boss found out I was looking. He didn't fire me but we sat and talked for two hours about how he felt betrayed and didn't understand why I was leaving. I felt like I was breaking up with him. lol
I hear a lot about situations like this. I don't understand why employers get so angry over an employee finding another job. Some employees just need multiple jobs to get by. Another thing I don't understand is why the employer fires the employee just for job-searching. Wouldn't keeping the employee for the remaining days/weeks/months help out the company?
why does it matter if you're looking for a new job? I don't see that as a reason to be fired

How did your boss find out, unless the other job called him for a reference. If youre looking for other employment you gotta try and keep it quiet (Ive informed jobs Im looking, but hadnt informed the place Im working at about it). Good luck at the new job if you got it, orherwise good luck searching
Hopefully the boss at the other job isn't such an asshole
