Just quit
Well, I'm sure you will be rewarded with a promotion ;) congrats ;)
Typical responses: Quit, get worst possible replacement, everyone is unqualified. Probably what is going to happen, like #89 and 84 said, and you are getting promoted because someone else is leaving. Do what you are told, because if you don't you will probably live in that position for the rest of your career or get fired for sure. Don't ACT like you know what is going to happen for sure.
You're still getting paid..for the time being..
have him fire you. go through the motions, find adequate people. once they fire you collect unemployment (cant if quit) and you have grounds for "hostile work environment. IKALIRL
I suggest procrastinating.

Get the worst possible replacement you can!
Find the worst qualified people to interview, and then don't hire anyone. While you're doing this, look for a new job. What's your boss going to do? Fire you?
