Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML

Sounds like the only thing left to do is stay 30 minutes late. Then when he starts staying late too, come in on Saturday. Then when he starts coming in Saturday... You know what, just move into your office. That's your only choice.

Come in thirty minutes earlier. Then when he follows that example you can change your schedule again. It will become a game!

Come in on time and make your productive half-hour coincide with your boss's lunch. When he zigs, you zag.

Your boss might come in early for a few days, but it will probably get old for him after a week, maybe two. Or you could quit going to work early for a few weeks.

I know what you mean, especially when you're the only other employee in the office. Every 30 seconds, the boss has something else he wants you to work on, and it just goes on from there.

well politely let him know. he seems like he likes you alot so I doubt he will get upset.

That's my problem. My boss is always calling me to sack groceries and then wonders why it takes me so long to finish my frozen truck.

You get paid to do 1/2 hour of work a day? Sounds like a sweet gig! Otherwise, it appears your boss hired you to be his talking buddy. Again, nice work if you can get it.

Since your attitude to work is awesome, you should start to make rules, suck as from 12:00-14:00 no one allowed to bother you and stuff like that, i think he will start to do the same as well..
