Hi Roger, welcome to the 21st century. It's not 1965 anymore where kids move out the day they turn 18. These days, people often don't move out of their parents' houses until they are older. Perhaps he's still in school. Perhaps he's fallen on hard times. Perhaps he takes care of his ill, elderly parents. Perhaps he plays video games in his bedroom all day and lives on Doritos and Mountain Dew. You just don't know.

My wife is older than I. How is that awkward? We're both adults, and OP and her boyfriend are both adults. There's nothing awkward about a 2-year age difference for adults.
