Today, my boyfriend announced he has stopped wearing deodorant because he thinks his BO smells "manly." FML

If he wants to be manly, he should listen to the guy on the Old Spice commercials. Does your man look like me? No. Can he smell like me? Yes. SWAN DIVE.

He takes advice from Larry the cable guy doesn't he?

sounds like it's a "how do I get out of this relationship" moment of creativity. sorry to hear. maybe on the chance it isn't, you could take him to the soap aisle for your one month anniversary? literally, good clean fun!!!

tell him your going to stop washing your va-jay-jay to enhance your womanly scent. lol.

ok gross for all those "studies" be honest ladies how many of you want to roll around with someone that smells like a barn yard? OP make it clear if it does bother you either he cleans up or he's single

I admit to have felt this way before but as someone who isn't completely devoid of reality, I continue to wear my deodorant

In my martial arts class we had a ground grappling seminar and my partner did not wear deodrant. He smelled so bad and after class was over, my clothes reeked of his "manly BO."

Yea my boyfriend does this too. I have to ask him everyday if he put it on. I understand your pain. Fml indeed

OP, perhaps you should ask him if he's so confident that other women will like his "manly" scent, and then dump him if he believes it does. OR, you could get him some kind of cologne, and tell him it's a manly scent that you like, tell him it makes you crazy or something. Real men like impressing their women. (If you are in high school or early college though, it possibly won't work.) As for whoever said it's "proven" that women become aroused with the smell of BO... you're wrong. I dated a guy who refused to wear deoderant. It's disgusting. You become numb to the smell after a while, but if you leave the room, it's like walking into a wall of stink when you come back. Find a REAL scientific fact. I'm fairly sure that's not published anywhere credible.

That's kind of hot. I like the way men smell. Pheremones and stuff. Guys always overdo it on the cologne anyway. Nothing like making love to the fragrance section of Sears. You should find a nice, subtle cologne you really like anyway and present it to him and tell him how it smells really good and gets you in the mood, etc. He might wear it if you present it that way.

Wow. Sounds immature to me! Have you talked to him about it? Maybe he should know how much it's affecting you. YLS.
