Today, my boyfriend broke up with me over the phone. He said there was someone else, and that he has been in love with her for a while. Turns out, the new girl was his online video game character. I got dumped for a video game. FML

@98 Yeah my guy was almost exactly the same. He wasn't a liar and had too much of a sex drive, but he was fickle as ll get out. He lost his life in WoW and after 4 months of dating the definition of a loser it got too hard. The day after I broke up with him he deleted the game and sent me incessant love texts. Then, he sent me a Facebook relationship request 5 days later. I denied it and told him I wasn't ready so he never spoke to me again :P I'm surprised he didn't do what w00tz' guy did. I feel for you girl. I am deeply and truly sorry.

I know how you feel! My boyfriend did it to me too!!!! They were dating for a month when I found out, and I didn't find out from him...I found out from her when I secretly got onto his computer.

Anyone consider the problem may be with her instead of him? Maybe she was less interesting than his video game character, or at least as poor at conversation. We come to this site to read the misfortunes of others so none of us can claim to be superior beings compared to the ones described one-sidedly in a paragraph. Just a thought. -thedevilsadvocate
