Today, my boyfriend came over to celebrate our anniversary. He had a card written in crayon with my name spelled wrong, and a basket I had seen his mother throw in the trash filled with flower petals ripped from my mom's garden. Our anniversary was 3 days ago. FML

Today, for our anniversary, I had made a small treasure hunt for my boyfriend, tying roses with notes of poetry to lampposts across campus to lead him to where we would have a romantic dinner. He couldn't find it because people had stolen the roses, or simply ripped them to pieces and thrown them away. FML

Today, I wrote my boyfriend a poem, and left it on the bed with a rose for him to see after work. When I came home later, I noticed the flower in the trash, and the poem had been used as gum wrapper. FML

Today, my boyfriend of three years sent me several flowers and chocolate boxes to my office. It ends up that he cheated on me with my sister and tried to break the news to me after all the presents he sent. I thought he actually remembered our anniversary this year. FML

Today, it's my three month anniversary with my girlfriend and so I decided to bake her a cake from scratch. It took me three hours, a call to my mom, three different recipe books, and half my pantry. On the way to her house, I stopped to pick up flowers and left the cake in the car. It melted. FML

ahhh shut up it's very cuts to track your anniversary... n how do u kno it's by day? I do it by months n it makes us girls feel closer to the person...it's to celebrate the original date of the realationship n some do it to celebrate the day of finding your life line ur one true love... keep thinking like that n you'll b sleeping on the couch for a verrry long time buddy

Normally my comment when someone bitches about not liking their anniversary gift, my reaction is that if you're a spoiled brat who expects a unicorn that pees rainbows and poops diamonds for every special occasion, you don't deserve your S.O. But on this one, OP is justified in calling it an FML. It's the thought that counts, and he clearly doesn't think.
