i hate the way the nobody seems to understand the correct way to use the English language!! An epic event is something that is truly life changing...or in some way..shape..or form changes the course of history...that would be the correct use of the word epic....not something that is simply humorous...
That has to be a joke - for bizarre reasons my wife and I would pay less tax single. We sometimes joke about getting a tactical divorce for tax reasons but it's never serious (I hope).

This could have just been his way of gauging your reaction. My fiance used to crack jokes like that all the time before he really proposed, because he wanted to see if I would get all freaked out that he said the "m" word. So maybe it was really a good thing?
