Today, my boyfriend of three years sent me a text message saying "It's over!". I sent him maybe a thousand texts saying "Why?", "What do you mean?!" After an hour of crying and whatnot, I realized he had driver's education today and that he was saying the class was over. FML

This is why you call someone about a potentially important issue instead of texting them. Especially when you don't get a reply to the first few (hundred?) texts!

it seems that you don't have the skills to take the wheel in this kind of situation, hopefully your boyfriend learn well on how to drive a situation like this without crashing and burning

If he said it in that way purposely to lead you into thinking that he was breaking up with you, that was pretty mean of him. That being said, while understandably you were upset and wondering what went wrong, is there really need for more than one or two texts, then waiting for a reply? If he had been ending things, i seriously doubt being hounded over a short time span with dozens of messages would make him rethink his decision.

expecting people to be rational?! you ask a lot of the current population...

Maybe he was driving and wasn't able to respond. However, he probably should have told you what was over.

If he's just now in driver's ed, & you've been dating for 3 years, you must have started dating when you were 12.. it's probably not that serious. maybe he found a new girlfriend on the playground?

Maybe he's learning to drive late- some people aren't that bothered about driving until they really need it. Also, even if they are 16, please don't be so patronizing. It can honestly be so irritating- I'm 17 and in a relationship, and it annoys me so much when people talk about my relationship as if it's just some kiddy thing that doesn't matter.

Something I've learned that a lot of people are unwilling to accept, age does not equal maturity. Maturity usually does come with age, but not always. Also, he could have been in drivers ed for while, and realistically could be anywhere from 15-18. And with the normal length of relationships during High School, 3 years is actually pretty impressive, and if he is 15, he spent a fifth of his life so far with one person, so it IS serious for them at their age.

Maybe he's getting his CDL (license to drive semis and the like)

Unless you're greatly exaggerating about how many texts you sent him, YDI for overreacting so much. If he didn't want to break up with you before, it's possible he does now.
