Today, my boyfriend's father suggested that, ideally, I should aim to have my baby in early July, or wait until he gets back from Europe in October. I'm due September 4th, and he will be "incredibly disappointed" if he misses the birth of his first grandchild due to my "selfishness". FML

Tell him you're disappointed that his gigolo son still hasn't popped the question even after knocking you up. I'll bet the old bastard will stop taking his petty annoyances to you anymore.

Wow, some of the commenters (as always) are a bunch of stuck up idiots. To assume someone who isn't married automatically "accidentally" got pregnant and won't be able to provide a baby with a loving family implies a really, really, REALLY poor view of the world.

That happened to me. My boyfriend and I planned our baby, I had to come off long term BC too. Loads of people assumed it was an accident including my own (unmarried by choice) mother who told me "babies come to us when they want to not when we want them to." AND THEN.. because my mum was 43 at the time everyone assumed she was upset about the pregnancy and I was some sort of teenage statistic, I was 22. People need to stop assuming all the time.

QWell he's a dick but congrats on the new baby

He was probably joking. YDI for not getting it.

Maybe someone should have "The Talk" with him and explain a few things about the birds and bees?

If he bitches you out when he gets back. Just say " the baby was selfish and came out when he/she felt like it. And baby is still being selfish little attention hog not letting me sleep, and have to feed him/her all the time... ". Yeah blame the kid, and maybe grampa will stop being one

Tell that pos to **** off then ask him what makes him think he has any right to be a part of your child's life let alone be there to witness the birth. Seriously, I would limit the interaction your child has with this selfish arrogant prick.
