I agree with #112 on this one. How could you even think that was FML worthy? Your life isn't even messed up by that. They probably loved it and, hey, if they cried, you probably rocked the song too. If you had messed up the song badly, then it would be a FYL.
oh no. that's sad.
Part of the grieving process is facing the things that bring to mind the beloved departed one. I'm sure Papa was smiling down from heaven; and I bet they were thinking that as you played and were crying because of that. That's a good sort of crying, not bad. You probably actually earned major points with the boyfriend's family for being (unintentionally) mindful of the grandfather. I have performed at funerals, and favorite songs of the deceased are a popular choice; for some cases such as death to terminal illness when death was expected, a person may choose the music for their own funeral (happened at one funeral I attended).
i fail to see how this is a FML. most funerals are a celebration of life, so i'm sure that song choice was a good coincidence!
How is this an fml? It's a funeral. Of course they're going to cry. Your life would be f'd if you'd played something that he'd hated, or that for some reason offended your bf's family. It's a coincidence, and it's sweet. Your life is not f'd because you played piano and people cried at a funeral...
i say yes **** your life for being dumb enough to think this is a fml. People like being reminded of fond memories. you should go kill yourself

If I was his family, I probably would have been touched. So don't feel too bad!
Don't feel bad, I'm sure they will appreciate it a little later. It's okay.
