Today, my boyfriend was continuously telling me how great my best friend smelled the other night and how I should wear some perfume that smelled like that. I have the same exact perfume and have been wearing it for months. FML

Like #1 said, perfume can smell different on different people. You should watch out though, your boyfriend might go after your best friend. Hopefully neither of them would hurt you like that!

IT COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH PHEROMONES. I'VE HEARD OF THIS FRAGRANCE CALLED SEX PANTHER, WELL, LETS JUST SAY 70% OF THE TIME IT WORKS, EVERYTIME. SO MY SUGGESTION FRANKLY IS TO GO FIND SOME SEX PANTHER, STAT!

Aw...well like a lot of people said, the same perfume smells different on different people. It could be B.O. (not saying you have any, it's just a factor), your natural smell (you don't smell it yourself, it's not a bad smell), it could be covered up by your shampoo/conditioner/hair product's scent, it could be from your clothes (ie if they are dirty, or from the smell of the detergent because some are really strong), or you just covered up the area where you put the perfume on (with clothes), masking the smell. Anyways, hope this makes you feel better!

Honestly, if he is that concerned about how you smell and will openly and unapologetically compare to this other girl and how she smells, he is a jerk and is not worth your time. Give it time to develop a relationship and find someone who truly respects you for who you are.

maybe it was her hair products. i know shampoo and condition and after products can leave strong smells that are usually good and also deodorant and body lotion. and i would be a little worried (warn your friend so she isnt caught off guard and it wont ruin your friendship). also what other people said about the perfume reacting wih your body.
