meanwhile, the cats are thinking let me the heck out of here. seriously, though why didn't you tell him you had cats? and why in the heck does everybody assume that if she would have picked the boyfriend she would har had to abandon the cats, she could have given them to friends or family. Also the boyfriend is a prick for giving an ultimatum like that. and to everyone assumes that the boyfriend may leave a week after she chooses him, the cats could also die tomorrow, after she chooses them. it really depends on info she hasn't given us, like how nice the bf is? if she really like him she screwed up, if sh thought he was so-so, she clearly made the right decision.
Shave the cats. F*ck your boyfriend. Case closed.
The average lifespan of a cat is 15-17 years. The average length of a relationship without marriage is 5-7 months. The average length of a marriage is somewhere between 7 and 10 years.
Also, I've committed myself to my dogs when I chose to adopt them, both in principle and in contract. When you adopt a dog you are making a commitment to care for him for the rest of his life. A commitment exists on both fronts. Who the person chooses is a personal decision, and if you want to disagree that's fine, but my husband will still be alive without me. The majority of surrendered dogs are put to sleep,
Are you related to that psycho cat woman from thec
all you people that say that she needs to choose the cats...... you people are all idiots. First off her cats do not live as close to a human especially her boyfriend. Now she became bf and gf for a reason because she liked him for who he is, not so she can break up with him as soon as she finds a flaw. So for her to choose the stupid cats over her boyfriend is the dumbest decision to ever make. OP i hope you die slowly for being so stupid or you become a vegetable.
You know, he obviously doesn't love her enough to live with it to make her happy. I'm allergic to my kittens, and one of them sleeps in my room. If she gave up her cats and kept him, some time in the future he might break up with her, you never know. Then you'd be feeling terribly miserable about your lost pets. Pets are a happy companionship, and you made a promise when you adopted the pet. So, if you dump your pets over a guy that you may not have been dating that long (seeing as he didn't know she had cats yet), then you aren't fit to own a pet. If they were engaged, or married even, THEN it might be the wrong decision.
You hope OP dies because they chose their cat over someone they've likely been dating maybe a few weeks? REALLY? People make it seem like dumping the guy will mean she's going to be single forever. Clearly the relationship ISN'T GOING TO WORK if they need to make ultimatums this early on. People who view animals as such little value honestly disturb me. Do you really think humans are the only important species on the planet? The only reason we're on the top of the food chain is because we learned how to make things to do our dirty work for us. A human without a weapon is utterly useless. We have no claws, our jaws are too weak to do any real damage and our teeth are pathetic. We don't even have any real strength unless we work out. People should learn to care about things other than themselves for once. In the end it'd make everyone happier.
#162: Cats live up to twenty years, sometimes more. They were probably there LONG before the boyfriend and will remain way longer than most relationships last. While they are extremely egoistical pets and mostly care about how to fill their stomach, they can STILL display affection, fear and distress. As for the boyfriend... Anyone going straight to the emotional blackmail of an ultimatum like that must care a lot more about themselves than their BF/GF. It's maybe not as harsh as "I can't stand your sister, if she ever visits, I'll leave", but it shows the same spirit of not wanting to make efforts to keep a relationship working.
191- EXACTLY! I'm guessing this relationship is somwhere between 1-3 months old, and that OP has a good twenty years at least before she becomes anything close to a lonely old cat lady. All of which is very unlikely, because she was happy to dump him and not worry about loneliness. As for humans not being all they're cracked up to be... I'm all ranted out on that one. And I have to pull my sister's cat out of the wardrobe...
yes humans r the most important species on the planet
If you say so. Just don't come crying to me when we're ****** because the bees are all disappearing.
More like FHL! I can't believe you'd do something like that to your boyfriend! I feel terrible for him... why are YOU posting on fml?
This is why I love my boyfriend. I had a previous roommate who became hostile to me when I told her I'd save my dog's life over hers, mainly because I'd grown up with my dogs and had just met her (She asked the question - I didn't just randomly say this...) I told this story to my boyfriend, and then told him not to ask if I loved him or my dogs more. He said that was ok, as long as it was a different kind of love :P I found a keeper!
Have fun dieing alone....
Yeah, YOU hate cats, so SHE should hate them too, yeah, cause that's TOTALLY how it works. Douchebag.
I think you just did!

tell him to get allergy medicine then u can have both
Bravo for keeping your cats! It's nice to see at least one person who won't dump them just because their bf is allergic.
