Today, my brother paid the DJ $300 to ruin my wedding by playing the Imperial Death March as I walked down the aisle. FML

Shit, I'd pay money to go to a wedding where the bride marched down to that.

To all of you saying this was an awesome prank, and you'd love it if that happened at your wedding, how would you feel if you actually planned to walk down the aisle to the Imperial Death March and when the time came it was actually some sappy classical song? You get all excited about your special moment, and then all you can think about is the fact that the song is wrong.

While I think the majority of people agree that it wasn't really okay of the brother to change the song (or of the DJ to go along with it), I think we're more surprised at the melodrama of the statement that the wedding is 'ruined'. As someone else commented, she could have laughed, said, "Nice, now change it back!" and walked down properly, and then let her brother and the DJ know in private that she wasn't pleased at being pranked on her wedding day, as it was THEIR day, not her brother's. Personally, I feel that if you consider your wedding utterly ruined by a song that no one will remember in five minutes (let alone in twenty years, I can't even remember if they even PLAYED a song at my brother's wedding and that was like... two or three years ago or something like that), there are bigger control issues at play here. A wedding could be ruined by the bride or groom running off with someone in the wedding party (or just not showing up), or fist fights, or drunken relatives, or a fight, or food poisoning that sends everyone to a hospital, but it seems a bit over the top to consider a few seconds of a prank as something that ruined your wedding.

Your brother is an ass. While a part of me is going "Dang, good prank." I know ultimately it was wrong and I hope he apologizes and makes it up to you for many years to come. And the person who actually played it gets fired and blacklisted.

Damn....I hope somebody uploads it to youtube.

Sorry, but I can't see that as 'ruining' a wedding. I'd love it if that happened at mine.

That's awesome. You just gave me an idea... I'd love to walk down the aisle to that.

It's either the Imperial March or the Death March. FYL again sonny-boy ;)

While that would be really funny to watch, and in 20 years you will probably look back and laugh, you should probably inform the DJ that the money your brother paid will be the ONLY money they see.

I'm sorry your plans didn't go well as you wanted them to, OP. But that would have been really awesome to watch!
