Today, my cat brought yet another chipmunk into our house. She never kills them, so they stay in our house until we either capture them or they escape. So far, she's brought in three squirrels, four chipmunks, four mice, and a snake. FML

that's one badass cat you have there!

Just keep them all in the house... the snake will eventually be the only one left.

I think your cats trying to connect you better to nature

It's a game, get it? Your cat wins when it brings you an infant/toddler, the other animals are just extra points.

Why are you letting the cat in the house with animals? If it has something in its mouth, do not open the door for it. Eventually, it will get rid of the small thing and you can let it inside. Sorry but YDI.

I think it's funny that so many people are pissed as hell about a dog killing cats that come in its yard, and yet get the warm fuzzies when the precious kitties murder all the little critters. Of course, they're not murdering people's pets, and it's slightly different motivation (hunting instinct versus territorial instinct), but it still amounts to allowing your pet to kill other animals. Yes, I know I'm simplifying the situation, the dog was abused into this overly aggressive behavior, but this is just food for thought: is it really all that much better to allow your cat to hunt and kill the local wildlife? Half the time, the cats are too well-fed to actually eat the prey, and leave it to rot and be eaten by scavengers. But then, as I said before, my cats were always kept indoors.

265- thank you! I never said what he did was right. just that it happens when cats enter our yard when their ignorant owners let them out to fend for themselves. he's also part bloodhound, and hunting dogs are bred to kill small furry things.

by allowing it to happen repeatedly and defending your dog's abnormal behavior; you are saying what he's doing is the right thing.

did you ever wonder what could happen if a child got into your backyard? how would you justify yourself then? would the child also have been 'asking' for it?

she's bringing you gifts to further show that she loves you, it's instinct, your alpha cat.

So stop letting your cat outside, genius.
