Today, my child-hating friend who vowed never to have any no matter what, announced that she's pregnant. I've had three IVF cycles, spent $90k in fertility treatments, and still can't conceive. FML

Ok... This sounds like my friend. She doesint want children but I do... We were saying "just watch, you get pregnant and I won't be able to."

You think thats horrible, do some archive binging on this site, i'll give you some info on some stuff I saw... fml about michael jackson dying: rude inconsiderate comments about mj Fml about some jack hole putting a hide and seek winners on a missing child board in wal-mart: commentators congradulating the guy, someone even blamed the children for going missing. fml involving the lgbt: homophobes fml about the op walking 8 miles with 4 blisters for 50$ only for the dad to lie about it: the commentators called the op lazy pussy etc. while "bragging" about how they could do it in (enter time) fml where the op doesnt deserve it: YDI'S fml (forgot about what it was) where the op made some grammical errors:YDI FOR GRAMMER ERROR fml involving gingers: no souls (funny) rude comments (not funny) descrimination (not funny) this fml: ADOPT that is all. Trust me, people are assholes.

one more disgusting thing Rape fml: people blaming the victim. fml about brother and friend ambushing the op, tying him up, gagged him with a big sock, mom found him laughed at him, left him there: people congradulating the brother and mom, people assuming horrible stuff about the op. what assholes

Sorry to hear!!! Have u considered adopting. There are so many kids from people like her that need people like you. Best of luck to you.

Ok, guys, adoption does take a long time. But unless you adopt from an agency or out of country, it's not going to cost you thousands of dollars. If you adopt from the American foster system(and are currently an American system), you may actually GET money MONTHLY for being awesome and taking in the poor kid(usually happens for special needs or minority kids). It does take a while, but so does pregnancy. 9 months--maybe a year if the baby comes late, maybe less if he/she's early. And giving birth is an incredible experience, but so is adopting. Their just incredible in different ways. And everybody is allowed to adopt, usually, if you live in the right place. Agencies are much tighter on who can and who can't, though(for example, some single parents can't adopt from certain agencies). Just don't adopt internationally and don't adopt from an agency and it really won't cost much. If you can, adopt in-state if you really want to save more money. Just my 2 cents.

Poster, you're ridiculous. Why not spend some of that money adopting a child who desperately wants a parent? Honestly. If you can't conceive, then share your life with a child without parents who is looking for someone to love them.

Its natural to feel envious and bitter. however, it is a good thing that your anti child friend has you to support her though her pregnancy and in raising her child. Channel your energy to help your friend -- maybe in doing so, you will find the strength you need to continue pursuing conception. On the other hand, as others have said, adoption may be a more realistic option for you at this point.
