Today, my dad came to my graduate art show wearing a t-shirt saying "My other daughter is a science major". He'd had it specially made. FML

Art is very hit or miss. She COULD be rich and famous.. Or she could end up working in retail or fastfood to make ends meet. Science almost always guarantees you a job.

Are you Asian? No offense intended here but that's a very stupid-Asian-dad thing to do. I feel your pain.

88.. I want to thumbs up you because you have a valid statement. But I want to thumbs down because of its content.. :( hope something turns up for you!!

did you really put "he'd had?" you know that "he'd" is a contraction of "he had," right?

he'd it specially made? no..just no...

128, yes, but no. What the OP was effectively saying was "he had had," which in this case is grammatically correct. Just saying "he'd" or "he had" would not fit within the context of the sentence.

You do know an art major could be in anything art related like animation. All OP said was "Art show" I had a graduate art show and my degree was in media design, we shared the art show with 3d and 2d animators, jewellers, sculptors and architects and well as the traditional painters and artists. So maybe OP will end up with a high paid job as an animator or an architect. Plus there is nothing wrong with having a major in something you really enjoy, the world would be boring if it was filled with bankers, scientists and politicians wouldn't it?

you never know, he may a proud father who was trying to express to people that he has two very talented daughters.

artists don't make a lot of money.. sorry.

Tell that to David Hockney and Tracy Emin etc.
