Today, my dad found and read my diary. Most of the entries were about how my father didn't respect my privacy. Then he phoned my aunt and read her passages from it. FML

Well, this only proves that you're right. FYL and good luck alienating your dad from his snooping, OP.

your father is a f*cking dick, how could he do something like that without feeling that it's wrong at all

thats really ironic, try a door lock

find your dads **** collection (because he DOES have one) and give it to your aunt. ;)

ouch that sounds like my mom and her sisters -_- I feel your pain

same thing happened to me!! Except all my entries were either how much I hate my dad, or about my crush. You probably think I should have hid it in a better place, I actually hid it in my underware and bra drawer, don't ask me what he was looking for in there.

so he learned nothing he didn't already know

what a rude bastard! what I seggest you do is start writing some really nasty stuff about him like how much you hate him going through your diary and so on then leave a message at the end saying if you read it again it WILL get worse

I agree with #91, find the **** and read it to the aunt. Virtually every guy in the world has **** hidden somewhere, and he's just begging for it with this crap. I remember a time when one of my sister's friends found mine, and instead of being offended or anything, she read the stories to me as if they were 3rd grade oral reports. It was simultaneously the most nerve wracking and hilarious thing that's ever happened to me. Also, though, it's best not to keep a diary in the first place. I tried it when I was a kid, it was easier and safer to keep everything internalized. Once you commit your thoughts to paper, anyone can read your mind.

Keep your diary in the form of emails in Yahoo, or elsewhere, with alphanumeric password protection; then he can't access it.

That sucks. I remember, back in my early high school years, like up until Year 11 (age 16 for you guys using a different system), I had these books I wrote in. Like lots of random things, but private things too. Anyways in Year 10, I had one next to my bed my mum was cleaning next to it and it fell open, so she read the two pages that were opened. It was a totally unrelated incident as to how I found out. Anyways I threatened to disown her after that (which I didn't...but I did say that) and now I keep all that stuff on my flash disk, and password protected. But OP should let their dad know how they feel about what he did. Because, unless he has a really good reason (like, he thinks OPs in some kind of trouble, like something major that would justify such actions), then I don't really think it's right.
