Today, my Dad sent me an e-mail wishing me a "Happy 21st Birthday, sweetheart!" The message went on and on about how much he loves and misses me and wishes we were closer, and can't believe how fast I'm growing up. I'm 23 and my birthday is in December. FML

I'm sorry about your dad :( that really sucks. But she does have a right to be upset! Yeah, you have the right to be upset too but that doesn't out rule her right to be mad that her father can't remember her age or season of birth :(

How does this make her spoiled. If her dad doesn't know the SEASON, or age, they obviously weren't there much growing up, so OP probably had it kinda hard with a single mother. So stop complaining and be grateful your father is in your life at all.

People, calm down. Just because your father treats you badly doesnt mean that anything slightly better is freaking incredible. Unless OP has 14 other siblings, the dad doesnt really have an excuse for this ( unless hes going through some tough times, but hopefully then OP would give him a break ).

No, #32 was right with the way that he was thinking. She's 23 and her father sent her a "happy 21st" which means that 2 years (24 months) and 8 months passed by. So basically if her father never wished her a happy 21st, then it would be 32 months late.
