Today, my Dad sent me an e-mail wishing me a "Happy 21st Birthday, sweetheart!" The message went on and on about how much he loves and misses me and wishes we were closer, and can't believe how fast I'm growing up. I'm 23 and my birthday is in December. FML

Today, it's my 21st birthday. I got a call from my deadbeat dad, who I thought had finally mellowed and had something nice to say. Nope; he just told me I'm 21 years a disappointment, then hung up. FML

Today, I received a short happy birthday message from my father. He’s never been one to show affection, and I haven’t spoken to him in months since he only reaches out to ask for money. This might have given me hope that he cares or wants a relationship with me. Except… it’s not my birthday, and I don’t think he knows that. FML

Today, I'm still trying not to cry. Yesterday was by birthday. I got an email from my dad with three words, "Happy Birthday (nickname)". I got a Facebook post from my mother. No card. No phone call. No gift. I have become nothing more than a Facebook friend to my parents. FML

Today, I ordered a beer with my parents at dinner. The waitress said, "Oh, happy 22nd birthday." My parents eyes got really big, and they started to blush. They'd forgotten it was my birthday. FML

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've had my dad ask me how old I was before. Men in general just aren't good with that sort of thing. At least he was thinking about you!

It's his fail bcuz he prob went to a site where u could set up the card to send on any date but accedently forgot to change the date so it sent today instead of on yr bday... He was doing this early so he could not worry about forgetting yr birthday fYL

That is bad, having a father forget his own daughters birthday. And, yes, people do have it worse. Some people don't have a Father; But still FHL, thats pretty sad. -_-"
