Today, my dad took me to the 'Super Butcher'. It's basically a warehouse turned into a giant, walk-in meat freezer, complete with headless pig carcasses. I'm a vegetarian. FML

i'm a teenager. a"child" in my fathers eyes. and it's easily 28 degrees Celsius outside. and he managed to make me wear jeans and a jumper, saying it would be cold. i didn't know we were going there. He thought it would be ok for me to walked around in a giant meat freezer.

That sucks. I've developed a phobia for dead meat products. If I were to be forced into such a place I'd probably black out.

I'd be in heaven. Dad's a game hunter and a farm pest controller (pigeons are known as pests on farms, they tend to eat crops), and I'm a very avid meat eater. We eat anything lol. Duck, Rabbit, Chicken, Pork, Deer, Beef, Pigeon. We're having goose for Christmas dinner, freshly shot from a recent trip dad had to Scotland. Can't wait. I just made my own mouth water lol.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I am an animal lover, so I'd still be mad if this was my dad. I'd kick him in the crotch and call him a barbaric savage. I shouldn't eat meat, but I grew up with it and I can't live on rabbit cuisine (aka salads and the like). But that doesn't mean I want to see what happens to the poor animals. OP, FYL, your dad is a jerk.

It's rather ironic that many meat eaters who also happen to love animals hold the same opinion. They will eat meat as long as it's distanced from what it really is as much as possible. For example, many commenters said they're not vegetarians, but they wouldn't be able to stand the sight of dead animals in a butcher shop. Where else would that steak or pork chop come from? I do understand not being able to give meat up simply because of habit, or perhaps misunderstanding what vegetarian cuisine consists of (definitely not just salad), but that's all it is - habit.

News flash we aren't the only species on this planet that kills animals. Animals kill animals too. But I do as well love animals. But they are only pigs and cows and chickens most of the world including some carnivorus animals eat that kinda of meat.

i don't see why not, especially since a large amount of vegetarians are for ethical reasons. you can't really argue that swallowing is an evil, pain inducing thing xD

I'm a vegetarian, and admittedly that would thoroughly gross me out on so many levels, but many people who do eat meat would be disgusted as well. Human beings are omnivorous, it's a fact of life that has predated history. I wouldn't have stepped foot in the store, but that's just me.
