it keeps getting younger and younger. time for a talk?
We got "the talk" in school in sixth grade (girls had a special meeting once in fourth and fifth grade). My daughter was in sixth grade last year and I heard that the school didn't start sex ed until high school. I said "F that!" and gave my daughter "the talk" at age 11. It was excruciating, but I got through it. So, to recap, in the last year I had my first colonoscopy, my first IRS audit and "the talk" with my only child -- most FML's sound like child's play to me!
its good to talk to your kids yourself....why trust the school system? your last year sounds like it was a blast....i have about 6 years before i have to talk to my daughter. i better start preparing. LOL.
It's not about winning, at leats not for me. It's about the fact that I want people to at least see what I believe in, have the option of another opinion. This kind of debate makes people think. If people don't learn to think then nothing ever changes. When the world stagnates everything turns to shit. I don't care what others think in any sense except that I like to be able to consider all possibilities. So here's another brilliant idea, how about you don't give us a hard time for sharing our thoughts.
ftw 151 :)
Break down and kill everyone...no I don't know, because I enjoy my life. You assume that people who don't share the same view as you are retards, but you only believe your views because of random personal experiences that are unique to you. But I guess there's not point in my trying to change your opinion.
Thanks, the colonoscopy was not as bad as you'd think -- it's the day before that really is awful! The school system can be trusted to give them accurate anatomical/physiological information. What I preferred about our talk is that I could level with my daughter about what pigs we men are, and what we will say and do to get sex. Also, my wife and I could let her know our values. We'd like her to be over 18 before she has sex (anything involving breast, penis, ****** and/or anus counts as sex!) and while we don't insist that she waits until marriage, she ought to be in a committed long-term relationship before she gets involved sexually. Also, we will love her no matter what and we will always be there for her, God forbid she should fall short of our expectations.
i like the way you think sir. :)
I think the OP tells her daughter not to have sex until after marriage cuz she doesn't want a ***** for a daughter. nobody does.
I'm not sure exactly where I stand on this issue. I mean I personally believe that having sex before one is out of high school is wrong. But I've never treated my friends who have done it any differently it's their choice. However my parent's never talked to me about sex. They said that when I got to the age where they thought they'd have to talk about it I already knew everything (through friends at school). I came to my age conclusion on my own, not because my parents beat into that sex was for marriage or any certain age that was right for sex. I think telling a 12 year old to wait for marriage is fine, then when she gets older you can explain about safety more.
Also what's this bull about puberty starting at 12. For some girls maybe, but I was 14. I didn't even start getting interested in guys until I was 15.
Ok, seriously everyone. What is with this stupid debate between the people who choose to wait and those who are a little more open with their bodies. "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special Olympics. Even if you win you're still retarded." So lets face it no one is going to "win some great victory" here. You can't convince someone of different views that their wrong no matter how hard you try, even if they are wrong. So here's a brilliant idea, keep your views to yourself and live your own life. Why do you care so much what another person thinks?
Ya but most likely your opinion is worth shit to anyone else.
Well of course your going to be a little shaken from just the "oh shoot" response. But when your 12 year old asks you when she should start having sex, that obviously means she is comfortable enough to talk to you about it. So maybe you should be comfortable enough with her to talk about what the reason she asked for. Maybe she asked because she know's someone who has, or wants to. Maybe everyone would be surprised.
Heard it before.

you should keep a better eye on what your twelve year is doing and who she's hanging around with
@164 - Losing your virginity is a consequence of having sex? Shit I wish I had have known that sooner!!!
