Today, like every other day, my daughter thinks that degrading skinny people is very "non-conformist" and "edgy". This time, though, a slightly slim girl punched her in the face when she accused her of being anorexic. Now people think I gave my daughter her new black eye. FML

Today, I found out my 12 year old daughter is going through a bit of an "emotional" stage. I got a call from her school saying she was sitting in the corner at recess trying to cut her wrist. With a plastic spoon. FML

Today, I told my daughter that she won't be going to her homecoming dance as punishment for her terrible grades. She's been crying and singing "If I Die Young" in her room for hours. At this point, I don't know if I need to call a therapist or a vocal coach. FML

Today, I got a call from my daughter’s school. They found her on the roof, threatening to kill herself. I had to pretend to sound scared and sad over the phone, but in reality, the only emotion I could feel was extreme joy. FML

That sucks. But I'm sure she'll grow out of it. Most people who just "turn emo" aren't really emo and get bored with it. I can't count how many times one of my friends would dye their hait black, nick their arm one and be like, "meh I'm emo," they weren't.

Its not all bad. Some emo is very attractive and stylish amd there are plenty that dont do drugs and cut themselves. Emo is basically a style, not a type of person and if your daughter is smart and knows to stay away from things like drugs then its not going to matter. She is who she is

Emo is boss, wtf why would you hate that? Im emo and my friends are emo and its great. Its just clothing and music, another lifestyle. Not all emos cut if thats what your going on about.
