Today, my ex sent me a pack of beer to screw with me. I'm still going to AA, and I thought I was almost over it. Five bottles later, I realized I'm not. We didn't break up over my drinking, either; it was because after just 2 weeks of dating, she threatened to kill herself if I didn't marry her. FML

wow, your ex is a psycho... stay strong OP. You can do it!

Well, it's a good thing that you're not in that relationship anymore. She sounds more toxic than alcoholism.

She's a shitty and manipulative person, clearly, and you're better off without her. Best of luck in your recovery, and I hope you find a lady who treats you right.

Wow she sounds like a complete psycho, good job you got out after 2 weeks. Good luck too!

Clicking the "Your life sucks" button really does not do this FML justice. OP, everyone stumbles once in a while. Talk to your sponsor and let him know what happened. You can still move past this. As for your ex... You need to take drastic action. Report her to authorities for suicidal ideation, or move so she doesn't know where you live anymore, or both. You don't need to have that added stress in your life. Good luck.

Well, it's a good thing you didn't marry her or you might've had to go buy yourself another pack...

As a fellow member of AA as well, I'm so sorry that happened OP. Don't let someone as toxic as her ruin your life and happiness. I know it's hard to resist, and you're probably beating yourself up for drinking, but we all make mistakes and you are so strong for being sober that long. So fight through it and stay strong! Wish you the best of luck. By the way, if she's threatening you with suicide, in most states you can get her hospitalized, at least for a few days. That might shut her up.

My grandpa has been sober for almost 35 years and he says to this day there's never a day that he hasn't wanted to drink, just easier to say no on good days. There's never really any being over alcoholism. That being said, what she did was extra messed up to me because of that. It really sucks that someone that unhinged came into your life and ruined your sobriety.
