Today, my family bet me $20 to wear a Disney Princess hat for the entire day around a theme park. I am 17 years old. We decided to go for lunch in one of the restaurants. After we finished, a woman gave my parents a leaflet on how to cope with disabled children. FML

That woman fails. How rude of her to assume that, although you have to admit, it'd be funny to see happen!

My three year old was having a typical three year old tantrum (no..just because walk past juice does not mean I will acquiesce to your every demand and buy you juice) and some lady came up and asked if he was autistic. When I told her no she reamed me out for not buying him juice. Uhm..so I should encourage his tantrums by giving into them? I don't think so. Anyways the latter part of that story is not the point. Just..why do people make these assumptions. What is it with people? None of their business.

booklet: a small book usually having a paper cover Are you serious =.=

I agree with MoeMoeMoe...because, just see it like this: If OP had used the British Pound sign, there would be people screaming "But if you went to Disney you would be in Paris, they use Euro"...if OP had used the Euro sign, there'd be people screaming "But you live in the UK, they don't have the Euro" -_- Just like all the dumb people screaming "WTF is a leaflet?" I have lots of teachers in college that are from the US: Connecticut, Washington, Indiana and Texas...they all know what a leaflet is and they also used that word before...oh oh wait...yea they're educated and many people on here are apparently not and think inside a small little tiny box. Sorry I overlooked that fact -_-

Uh wow, I went to Disney last year and wore one of the Minnie Princess hats for half the time I was there, and never once got any sort of leaflet...or even a glare, and I'm 15. You must have been doing something else for that lady to give you a leaflet :/ Something more retarded. Either way, FYL.

I think everyone who doesn't know what a leaflet is should be given a leaflet on how to cope with being mentally disabled too.

I've never heard the term "leaflet" used but anyone with proper reading comprehension skills can realize leaflet = pamphlet. Or whatever term they use.

Agreed. I guess people on this site are just really ignorant.

I think I'm more bothered by the title. It's made to seem like we are burdens.

I agree with #1. Even if you were disabled, your parents would have been dealing with it for 17 years. She fails at life.

who the hell walks around with leaflets on how to cope with disabled children? were you acting silly or stupid? my daughter regularly wears a princess crown. it's part of her fashion statement. (she actually looks good with it). and, no, she's not a spoiled brat. she's nice.

Has anyone considered the fact that the OP might just have converted the British sum of money to US dollars for the benefit of those who don't know how much a pound is? I do it out of courtesy when talking to friends from the US or other countries.

Ahh that sucks. Don't worry though, my parents told me that when I was 7 or something a teacher at my school wanted to put me in a retarded class. I have an 86 average now.
