this is actually hilarious! a wedding should be about you two as a couple. my fiancé and I would do something like that because that's just the way we are, and our friends know us like that. but your fiancé also needs to keep in mind that even though he will feel relaxed enough to high five you, it's your wedding and it needs to be special to you. so I say kiss it ip or high five each other then fall into a kiss. good luck on the planning. I know it can get stressful with everyone's input but hang in there! remember to focus more on the marriage than the wedding.

I love how everyone here is suggesting that the guy is awesome and they should do it or do both. Obviously OP doesn't like the idea or else she wouldn't have posted it here. Some women still want a traditional wedding with traditional customs, and if this is what she wants, her fiancé should respect her enough to just kiss her.
