Today, my friend and I went to a really expensive restaurant. We got really bad service, so halfway through the meal we decided to dine-and-dash. Turns out I left my purse in the restaurant. With my I.D. and everything inside. FML

Why would you EVER think that was okay? "Oh, the service sucks, I'll just steal the food." YDI.

Well ydi kind of. You should have just reported it and if you were at a 'fancy' resturant they would have given you the meal for FREE. So that was just stupidity.

God damn I joined here just to comment on this one. You are a bitch, and YDI times 1000. If it was really as terrible as you say, talk to the manager and you'll get a comp or at least partial comp and it will be LEGAL. Trying to dine and dash is a dick move and I am so glad you got caught.

51 If what you are saying is true than your employer will go to jail so long as you properly file your taxes. Presuming you are in the US, the employer must make up any difference in your pay if your tips do not equal out to minimum wage when combined with your paid wage. According to your post, your tips aren't making up the difference, and your employer isn't paying. So file your taxes, your employer will be in jail for tax fraud, will get a hefty fine, and you'll get just as money if you had worked at a real job like mcdonalds instead of pitiful serving job where you only get a little over $2 an hour Unless you are one of those servers who likes to spread the "$2 wage lie" because they know when people believe they only get paid $2 an hour they'll get higher tips than when people are familiar with the law, that by law, every server in the US must be informed of by their employer, stating that their wages plus tips, must always equal minimum wage, and its the employers responsibility to make up the difference whenever that doesn't happen

Servers in my state truly do make $2.13 an hour. (Once was a server) if the server doesn't average minimum wage between tips and hourly over the course a week then yes the restaurant pays out. Also the largest paycheck I ever got was $35 during my few training days. So basically the hourly pay goes towards taxes.

Were supposed to feel bad for you because you to lazy to talk to the manager, or not smart enough to deal with it like an adult and just leave a crappy tip?

If the service was bad, don't leave a tip. It's no excuse to dine-and-dash

51 - If you've never gotten any money at a paycheck you must be claiming cash tips accurately. lol. 59 - I work as a waitress and I've also gotten $0 checks before. Servers have to claim the amount of cash tips that they get so the IRS can tax those. It comes right out of the paycheck so it's pretty plausible to get a paycheck with a nice big VOID on it.

As a server, **** you. If you think service is poor then don't tip. A lot of times a server has to pay into a walkout fund to cover dine and dash, so when you do that shit it's coming out of someone else's pocket.

If the service is bad somewhere you a) tell the person dealing with you what is wrong (politely, it's possible it's a misunderstanding or a mistake) b) if they don't fix it, ask for a manager and (again) be kind about it, as it could be a misunderstanding/mistake c) if neither are true (they're just rude/it's not a mistake) then skip the kind and be point-blank about it, ask for someone else to help you. d) if all else fails, get a manager, tell them you're leaving and that you don't plan to pay for your food due to service. That is not stealing.

Ya, your a stupid bimbo and hopefully u have to do some labor to make up for the dam service you ran out on. so this isnt a fml, its a Your a stupid bitch who acts like a child instead of a adult moment :)
