Ok, so your friend is an asshole. That's a given. But if that comment really bugs you that much, then it probably means that you're not happy with your body, so if it really does bug you, start eating right and working out, because when you finally feel happy about yourself, comments like that won't hurt, or if you don't want to put in the work, then find a way to be happy with yourself at the size you're at

Um...rude comments can bug you without being inherently true. It implies that OTHER people see something wrong with you, not that you do. If you decide to majorly overhaul your life based on a single insult, that points to a very insecure personality.

yes I understand that, but there's a reason it's called self esteem, as long as you are happy enough with yourself, other people's comments, no matter how rude, shouldn't be able to affect how you feel, I wasn't trying to be rude and say " hey lose weight fatty" I at least didn't mean it to come off that way, I'm just saying she needs to figure out whatever it is she needs to do to be completely happy with who she is, so this shit can't bug her, but yeah if she doesn't want to hear comments like that then she needs to work at it though, I used to be a lot bigger than I am now and got that shit all the time, I was still happy with myself, but when I got fed up with those comments I started working my ass off and now I don't get that shit anymore
