Today, my friend told me that Otter Box phone cases protect the phone whether it's thrown or just dropped. I disagreed. He then threw his phone across the room into a cement wall to prove it. The phone's screen was completely shattered and now he thinks I owe him a new phone. FML

Buy him a really old flip phone, or perhaps a Nokia and tell him you agree that the Nokia won't break

Well that's idiotic that he thinks you should give him a new phone, he's stupid for thinking that wouldn't crack it, your life sucks Op.

My sister did that, except she told her friend to throw it.

If you buy him a new phone you're dumb and I hate you. Destroy this friendship if you have to I do not allow you to give in

uh, no, you don't own him a new phone. you didn't tell him to throw it - he did it of his volition. He has to pay for it himself. p.s. your friend shouldn't have a nice phone if he's that stupid to throw it at a cement wall.

Tell him to go **** himself.

Buy him a Nokia and next time he throws it at the wall the wall is gonna be the one that shatters

He's the one who threw it in the first place... HDI. ....or buy him an old ass flip phone, or a megaPHONE, or a house phone, or a saxoPHONE.... XD

The otter boxes are great just not against cement because I've thrown my phone at a wall and it was perfectly fine

Hey guys! OP here! Thanks for all the comments and feedback on my first ever published FML. But yeah, we were kinda arguing between which is better: my Survivor case or his Otter Box. After the screen had completely shattered, he said "You started the argument, you owe me a new phone..." He ain't getting a phone outta me. Lol! ?

Your friend sounds idiotic and self-entitled. I would tell him off and if he pushes the matter, end the friendship. He can't even own up to his own mistake. You don't need a "friend" like that.

Even if it were somehow OPs fault, why replace a phone when the screen can be replaced for a fraction of the price?
