Today, my girlfriend is locked in the bathroom crying because I didn't buy her anything for Valentine's Day, even though Friday, at her suggestion, we agreed not to exchange gifts because both of our birthdays are a week away. FML

Today, it's the day after my birthday. My boyfriend got me nothing. Nor did he do anything for me for Valentine's Day. Whereas I got him an $85 game for his birthday, planned a surprise visit to his family so he could see them and his pets, and spent all day Valentine's Day making the house spotless, as well as cakes. FML

Today, I received an email saying that the present I ordered for my girlfriend's birthday will be a week late, which makes it a week late for her birthday. I sat down and said we needed to talk, she burst into tears and apologised for 'sleeping with him,' I just wanted to tell her it would be late. FML

I remember my first Valentine's Day with my boyfriend of 3 years. I got him an adorable little teddy bear, but he told me he didn't want it and handed it straight back to me. He didn't even thank me. He didn't get me anything or wish me a happy Valentine's Day. I feel sorry for you, OP. That was a pretty silly 'test' of hers, and she sounds kind-of materialistic. I hope you have a good birthday though!
