Today, my girlfriend told me that the necklace I gave her wasn't a "unique enough gift." I spent two weeks making that necklace, link by link. FML

I hate ungrateful people. She's lucky she got a gift in the first place

My boyfriend always gives me ugly jewelry that he made and I'll wear it until it breaks just because I love him.

You should make her a sweater made from your tears.

Obviously you two have different views on what is and isn't "unique"..

Dump her. She's ungrateful and there's no sense in putting more time and effort into her if she's going to treat you like that.

1000x yes. This is an omen of things to come. She'll never be any less ungrateful and will only get more demanding as time goes on. Cut your losses and move on to someone who actually appreciates you

High maintenance, ungrateful and probably manipulative as Hell. She's most likely also the type who will piss and moan that her boyfriend's mother hates her guts. Give her permission to walk out the door, and tell her to not let it hit her in the ass on her way out. Then, call your mom and tell her she was right about the bitch.

a bitch like her should be grateful getting a gift period, FYL op

Who the hell would be happy about a "gift period" periods suck. Don't give them as gifts

I'm not fond of "it's the thought that counts," because I've heard it used as an excuse by gift-givers who didn't put any thought into their gifts at all and are irritated with the recipients for being upset. But in OP's case, his girlfriend does sound like a straight-up bitch, so I doubt she's got a good excuse.

You should get rid of her. There are plenty of women who would appreciate a man like you.
