Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML

i dont get the "i name one kid, you name the other" mentality. why dont you just work together to find a name you both like?

"Make-believe cartoon character"?! Whoa whoa whoa, you've gone too far, there. Besides, it's a totally cool name, you must admit.

first off never let the father name the kids. my mom did that with my sister and her name is Chevy. also if you're not Asian or native American the name sounds like crap. it doesn't sound badass if a skinny white boy is named Kratos. and everyone who thinks kratos is the "god of war", it 's not idiots thats MARS.

My daughter's name is Quistis... A character from Final Fantasy VIII. Believe it or not, that was a compromise. I originally wanted to name her Amber Dextrious. My wife said it sounded too much like a **** star name and black-balled it.

Kratos is an awesome name. You probably named your daughter something boring, like Anne or Emily.

I'm not going to argue about "Kratos" meaning strength, but " the name of the actual Greek god of war from myth" is Ares: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ares http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cratos get your mythology right. and OP: You should have said "but please, make it a sensible name." granted, Kratos is an awesome name, but perhaps compromise to have it moved to a middle name?

A) Wanna run by us all just how exactly your child can be "expectant?" B) Kratos is not a cartoon character. It's Greek for "strength." God, look stuff up more often.

Just because he gets to pick the name doesn't mean you don't retain veto rights.

first of all, neither Kratos nor Mars were the Greek god of war. the GREEK god of war was ARES. the ROMAN god of war was Mars. Kratos was actually a Titan who was completely subservient to Zeus in Greek mythology - i know that in the game he tries to overthrow Zeus, but in mythology he was subservient to Zeus. secondly, Kratos is an interesting name and the game's good, but perhaps compromise with your husband to have it moved to a middle name?

kratos is a good, strong, christian name, SO STOP YOUR BITCHING. lol jk, but yea, it's not that bad. Your daughter could be named obamaniqua or something... O and LMAO @ #313
