Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML

i dont get the "i name one kid, you name the other" mentality. why dont you just work together to find a name you both like?

"Make-believe cartoon character"?! Whoa whoa whoa, you've gone too far, there. Besides, it's a totally cool name, you must admit.

hahaha. veto that shit. i know a girl named shabana... it could get worse.

God of War is one of the best game series ever created. Your husband rocks. Also, "Make believe cartoon character"? That's out of line. And yeah, I wish my name was Kratos.

at least the kid wouldnt be made fun of imagine it if you do name him that no way anyone would make fun of a a guy from a game which pure purpose is killing and getting the most gore out of it no you cant mess with that

Its not like its on the birth certificate already, you can always change it while your husband is not looking

hmmm i think its not that bad. But since the meaning of his name his strength he might end up being a jock and the school bully.

i love that game!! lol...i dunno how i would feel if my child was named after a video game though...sorry :p

My daughter's name is Annika Rei. My son's is Rivers Taylor. If we have another girl, we're naming her Amelie Rose. Great names, right? Annika was nearly named "Mariska", because my wife was obsessed with SVU during the pregnancy. The middle name from one of my favorite animes. My son is named for Rivers Cuomo, of Weezer, and Roger Taylor, drummer for Queen. Amelie Rose allows me the opportunity to shorten it to Amy Rose, a character from Sonic The Hedgehog. The name itself is what's important, not where it came from. At one point, my wife was going to let me name a son Connor Nash, a combination of Highlander's Connor MacLeod, and his alias, Russel Nash. Also, Colin Noel Adams, named for author Douglas Adams (whom I had the great fortune of meeting once), and a minor character from one of his books. Childrens' names should be chosen with the same care as a tattoo- not something you'll regret a couple of years down the road, but something with some staying power, that the child is going to be able to say more than "Yeah, my dad named me after this chick in this show", but "this is what my name means, this is why it's important to me".

You srsly married the coolest guy ever. And Kratos is an AWESOME name. Run of the mill names are so weak.
