Today, my husband rescued our daughter's cat from a tree. She spent the next hour clapping and telling me how much of a hero he was. Last night at 2am I was awoken by meowing and had to rescue the same cat from the same tree, in the dark, and halfway down he shit on me. No one called me a hero. FML

Leave it in the tree, it will come down. Have u ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree?

I guess she wasn't able to witness it so it didn't have such a big impact. maybe you should keep kitty inside!

YDI for buying her a soulless creature. Cats are Satan-spawn.

Why do people insist that cats need rescued from trees?! YDI for being an idiot.

You shouldn't care if your daughter calls you a hero or not. You should care that you selflessly did something good for her, whether she knows it or not.

This is about the point where anyone that has any tolerance left for your childish need for praise will tell you: Boo-f'ing-Hoo, grow up.

I'd never get a stupid cat down from a tree. If it was smart enough to go up than it must be able to come down all by itself. And I wouldn't especially do it if it was 2 in the morning...

dont bitch, your not gonna get rewarded for everything you do. thats kinda sad that you think this is a fml. really, grow up im 16 years old and even i know not to expect praise for everything. immature bitch

I think the whole point of this fml is that she's upset that her daughter sees her and her husband so differently. This whole thing implies that her daughter likes her father over her mother. I think that's the real reason she's upset, not over the praise itself.

Actually I think many commenters here are kind of missing the point... This is similar to when I was a child, my mum was the one who kept me in line and fed me vegetables etc, my dad always got the fun jobs like buying me presents or taking me out on trips. Obviously it was my mum who had the less fun job but I owe her much more than my dad in terms of me turning out okay. Of course, at the time, I hero worshipped my dad and thought of my mum as "the big meanie"... Must have been very upsetting for her because kids aren't good at hiding that sort of thing. I feel very guilty about it now when I realise all that she did for me. This cat in a tree thing could well be just the icing on the cake of a similar situation :p
